It is worth mentioning that we didn't increase or maintain our customer base by ever publicly boasting about who buys what from us.
So, whatever you ask about, or acquire from us, will not be used as a recommendation by us for any others to do the same!

"NATIA"
The
National
Technical
Investigators
Association
NATIA runs an annual Seminar and Exhibition that covers the believed cutting
edge in Techniques Training Seminars and Technology demonstrations. It
is usually pretty damn close, but sometimes the "Talks" have to be averaged
down, due to the absolute cross section of attendees, which range from 20 plus
year veterans, to first year - just learning - Street COPs.
In a two hour "Talk" it is very difficult to find a technical consensus level
at which to pitch the "Talk". Often these are over the heads of some, and
boringly obvious to others. Talks are always graded in advance, "BASIC";
"ADVANCED" etc., but when we ask visitors to our Booth each year we always
get, and I mean always get, some who say it was too advanced, or too basic.
I really enjoy teaching, as long as ALL of the class are at about the same level
of understanding.
I used to do a "Guest Instructor" 1 or 2 hour spot at FLETC in Glynco,
and would spend the first 15 minutes trying to gauge the level of understanding
of the 16 to 20 students. They are on a two week course, and I used to come in
on the second Tuesday or Thursday. Tuesday was always better than Thursday, as by Thursday they are all thinking of going home...
It is amazing to me how some of the 'students' from the early 1990's still remember the "Question & Answer" segment at the end, which would often go on for an hour or more. Mainly covering incidents from 'another life' when I was active in a CT unit.
My last task in that unit in 1980-81 was trying to remotely detect electronic initiators attached to IED's. Primarily IR, which are not as new as you would be lead to believe. Filed a US Patent on my solution in 2004
Always remember;
"30 SECONDS OF VIDEO BEATS 10 HOURS OF TESTIMONY, EVERY TIME."
If you are directly involved in Law
Enforcement, work in the military or any Government Agency at a technical
level, then you should be a member of NATIA
.
Only serving personnel can become
members. Vendors cannot become members, neither can P.I.'s.
So, we are also excluded as members but we do support them in this.
These are the "Good Guys" at the front lines, working hard to provide technical support for others who don't appreciate it, they collect evidence, work cases, get home late, and then get blamed when equipment does not work as advertised.
It would be hard for them, in my opinion, to bitch about poor service, poor equipment, technically incompetent suppliers, if vendors were also members.
For more information, phone: 1 (703) 237-9388 and find out how and where to join.
There are separate Chapters of NATIA regions all over the USA.
Please say you got the phone number here, from Complete Police Supply in Georgia.
