The "Back Bone" of every investigation is the audio
track. For sure you realize by now that if it is not on tape, or there is
a video recording of it, in the eyes of a jury, "IT NEVER HAPPENED!" These
microphones and mic amps cover most of your needs. Stereo setups of these
readily available.
Hyper sensitive sub miniature microphones with matching
'line level' amplifiers; The KNOWLES© microphones are very small and
difficult to solder wire onto (for most cops!), so we can supply these with
varying lengths of our COP-2WIRE, or COP-ULTRA2/W properly attached.
Here's an image of 6 feet of COP-ULTRA2/W with a Knowles© microphone attached.
The connection is strengthened with an epoxy and
small backing. Usual length is either two to six feet (for body worn) or
twenty to 25 feet for vehicle use. Twenty feet can normally be screwed up
into a ball and held in your fist as the wire is thin and highly flexible.
When used with the amplifier described below, 300 to 500 feet of this COP-2WIRE or COP-ULTRA2/W
may be deployed without noticeable loss of audio quality. These two specialized wires can and are, also used for carrying video over similar distances without noticeable loss.
In addition we have a new and small amplifier that are only sold with small microphones, and will successfully operate from 3 to 15 volts dc. This means a regular 9 volt battery just keeps on working
right down to 3 volts! Put together specifically for use with KNOWLES© and
other 3 wire high quality microphones.
Output is at audio "Line Level" and has an RCA
type male connector on a short cord. A "BARE" version is available for use
with video and audio transmitters which require a line level audio input.
The "BARE" amp is a PCB that measures 1/4" wide, 1" long and 3/16" thick.
A connector is provided for power and microphone inputs. Works on any voltage
from 3 volts to 15 volts
dc.
All microphones may be used on other 2 core shielded
wire that we import.
