In a vehicle, the unit may be powered for extended operation via the included cigar lighter adapter. The audio input may be located alongside the camera, or up to 6 to 7 feet apart... A little history. Since 1991 we have been designing and packaging innovative video systems for both Law Enforcement and the Military (But not Joe Public). Some have been overt, but with covert features, and some covert but with overt features. The Stork-One© is 100% covert! Added to which the 'Patent Pending' interconnection medium is not detectable during a routine "Pat Down" as the medium is only one millimeter thick and should be worn against the bare skin and under the clothing of the user! However, despite its ultra thin make up, it is very strong and highly flexible. The tiny, and well protected, 3 mega pixel camera produces, and the unit records, in MJPEG (MOTION JPEG) 640 x 480 images with the Date and Time embedded on every video frame. Recordings are in .AVI files. MJPEG uses much more memory, as it is not predictive or compressed like MPEG4, or H.264. The unit is supplied in a "Ready to Go" configuration, with nothing to do but fully charge it; either via a computer's USB port, the included cigar lighter cord, or the included 110-245VAC wall charger unit. Each system leaves us in a fully charged state, even so, we suggest that you charge it over night before using it operationally. We do suggest that you first make a short video, maybe 2 to three minutes, then connect the system to a PC's USB port, and using Windows Explorer check to see if the Date and Time are correct. If not, edit the Date and Time in the "time.txt" file. The Date and Time should look like this 2011.12.21 16:07:00 make sure that there is only a single space gap between the date and the time as shown here between the '1' of 21 and the '1' of 16. Then save the file into the root directory of the Stork-One. The Basic Unit comes with a 8GB embedded TF memory card, and a 2 hour plus, continuous battery life. Options are 16GB or 32GB of on board memory. It is important to note why the TF memory card is embedded; TF cards, unless retained in some way can 'pop' out unexpectedly and get lost. Or they may be removed, or released inadvertently, thereby losing or 'spoiling' an evidentuary recording. Embedding makes for one less thing to worry about! There is a slightly wider version available that comes with a 4 hour plus battery and an 8GB embedded TF memory card (with 16GB and 32GB options). Simple to use, as the unit only has the following items; Flush fitted Mini USB 2.0 connector; Recessed ON/OFF mini slider switch; Flush mounted "START/STOP" button; Recessed, and descrete indicator that changes color depending on operational status.
